New ENG 101 Co-Requisite TRS 099

The venerable TRS 105, a prerequisite developmental composition course that prepared students for ENG 101, has been replaced by a new co-requisite course, TRS 099, College Composition Support. Students who place into the top level of developmental reading/writing coursework (the former TRS 105 placement range) now take that developmental composition course the same semester they take ENG 101. TRS 099 meets immediately after ENG 101, and provides just-in-time support for the students. Both courses are taught by the same instructor, so there is continuity and consistency between the two classes.

Students should register for a section of TRS 099 and its paired section of ENG 101; the section numbers are identical, and contain an A (accelerated). For example, ENG 101-01A is paired in a learning community with TRS 099-01A; the ENG 101 class runs 9-9:50 MWF, and the TRS 099 runs 10-10:50 MWF.

There are 11 of these courses pairs on the spring 2019 schedule. There are Downtown and Brighton sections, as well as an evening pair and two pairs online. A flyer with specifics is attached.

Thank you for your support!
