President's Wednesday Message

In the weeks leading up to the fall Message to the College Community, I asked you to share your questions about our College. You response was inspiring: I received over 40 questions on everything from day-to-day MCC operations to opportunities for professional development and advancement to my thoughts on the purpose of a college education.

One of our College values has long been integrity, defined (in part) as “promoting an environment of honesty and authenticity.” MCC’s draft 2017-2021 Strategic Plan goes further and include a direction related to Organizational Culture; it calls on our College to “foster a culture that promotes openness, trust, collaboration, and mutual respect that is shared among students, faculty, staff, and administrators from a range of diverse backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to enhance student learning and related outcomes and institutional improvement.”

It is clear that the availability of an anonymous portal to submit questions created a valuable channel for open communication, so I have asked that the Qualtrics survey link remain available indefinitely so that you can continue to submit your questions anonymously. Hearing from you—directly and honestly--will help us work together to build a stronger community and culture.

You can look for responses to your questions in the blog, in the Daily Tribune, and in other forums.

Thank you for engaging in the conversation.
