Wellness Council to Sponsor Virtual Herb Gardening Workshop on 3/24/21

Did you know that herbs can transform ordinary meals into something special? Incorporating herbs into your garden design also adds color, fragrances, and interest to your landscape. The MCC Wellness Council is sponsoring a virtual workshop on Herb Gardening on Wednesday, March 24 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Come learn about the benefits of herb growing from their beauty and use in cooking, to their medicinal uses and healing properties.

Lois Breen, Master Gardener at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be the workshop presenter. Lois grew up in rural Spencerport where her family raised many vegetables and fruits, especially raspberries. As an adult she focused on landscaping her homes with perennial and annual flower beds & shrubs. A few years ago she joined the master gardener class and has been growing herbs in pots on her deck and windowsill for several years and loves to incorporate them into her meals. Lois is an MCC graduate!

Cornell Cooperative Extension is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EEO, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities and provides equal program and employment opportunities.

Registration for the free online event is required in order to receive a link to the Zoom meeting. To register, contact the Wellness Council at MCCWellness@monroecc.edu.
