Donation of Personal Protective Equipment
In the midst of preparing to teach classes via distance learning and looking for alternatives to clinical experiences, the faculty and staff of Nursing, Surgical Technology, Dental Studies, Radiologic Technology, and Clinical Lab Technology took the time to collect PPE (personal protective equipment) to donate to local hospitals. Special thanks to David Lawrence who loaded PPE into my car during a windstorm and to Alan Kaminsky who packaged the many smaller boxes into large cartons for easier delivery. An estimated 2700 masks of various types, 100 face shields, 150 gowns, 60 isolation gowns, 300 bouffant caps, 3200 medical grade wipes, and 9800 gloves (all sizes) were shared to help preparations for medical personnel to be safe while they treat patients.
