William S. Johnson, DCC Librarian, Curator of Degas' Visual Environment Exhibit

William S. Johnson, DCC Librarian, has organized the show "Degas' Visual Environment: Photographs & Objects from the Collections of the Visual Studies Workshop and Elsewhere."

The show will run from October 25th to January 4th, 2003 at the Visual Studies Workshop, 31 Prince Street, Rochester, located across the street from the Memorial Art Gallery. The exhibition consists of approximately 300 photographs, journal articles and books from the time that Degas lived and worked as an artist. The show was created to compliment the larger Degas exhibition being held at the Memorial Art Gallery and to provide contextual background for Degas' art practice.
