Sarah Freligh Poetry Reading on Friday, February 12

Poet Sarah Freligh will be reading poems from her new book, Sad Math, this Friday, February 12, from 12-12:50 p.m. in Brighton Campus Building 8, Room 200. The event, which is sponsored by the Department of English and Philosophy, is free and open to members of the MCC community and the general public.

Sad Math won the 2015 Moon City Poetry Prize.

In the words of her publishers, Freligh takes us for a ride through an American girlhood, a retrospective landscape of parking in cars and illicit kisses in a Donut Delite. Here, time is measured not only in days and years but in physical distance, a past that is understandable only when viewed through a rearview mirror. Along the way, there are not only losses, but also the accumulation of experience and the insistence of possibility.
