Milladge Griffin, financial aid, and Mary Méndez Rizzo, dual enrollment, represented MCC at the Urban Suburban Program “College and Career Night”. Milladge and Mary were part of a panel of experts sharing “need to know” information on topics including: credit opportunities in high school, applying for scholarships and financial aid, college financial planning, and early career exploration. More than 60 attendees (mostly parents) participated in the workshop held Tuesday, January 24th. Planning for a follow up event is in the works due to popularity.
The Urban-Suburban Program is an interdistrict transfer program coordinated by Monroe #1 BOCES. Approximately 800 students are in the program across 12 participating districts. The program prides itself on having strong parent and family involvement since its inception in 1965.
