The New Generation of iStream

I am pleased to announce that iStream, the League for Innovation’s powerful Web-based resource, has released a new comprehensive version!  This superb resource for professional development is user-friendly and provides exciting new features such as “Thoughtful Topics” and “Chats & Stats.” Within iStream you have access to countless articles, books, keynote presentations from League Conferences, online streaming videos, etc.  Here are just a few examples of what you will find:

·         Videostream  - Adena Williams Loston, Chief Education Officer, National Aeronautics and Space Administration
League for Innovation, Conferences, Opening General Session CIT 2005 in Dallas

·         League Spotlight article – “The Co-Curricular Student Development Transcript”
Monroe Community College, NY

·         General Article – “ "https://www.league.org/istream_v2/content/search/documents.cfm?conid=442"Pathways to Student Success: Case Studies From the College and Career Initiative,” a consortium of colleges with Teacher Education Programs

iStream also affords you the opportunity to interact and share knowledge with faculty and staff from across the country. There is a monthly focus on a selected community college highlighting a theme, a related innovative program/project on campus and other related topics. Monroe Community College was featured during the month of March and contains a presentation and article by President Flynn and Dr. Salvador.

MCC faculty and staff have free access to this remarkable tool.  The best way to find out more about iStream is to get in there and try it out!  To log into the new and improved iStream, go to https://www.league.org/istream and follow the directions in the “Create an Account” area.  Please take a moment to explore this dynamic database.

Throughout the year there will be periodic updates on interesting articles found within iStream, and Brown Bag sessions will be offered to illustrate the “power” of iStream!  If you have any questions, or have access problems, please contact Peggy VanKirk, Coordinator of Special Projects and Online Services, ETS, at: "mailto:pvankirk@monroecc.edu"pvankirk@monroecc.edu.
