Three Area Foundations Give to Early Childhood Effort

Three area foundations, Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation, Halcyon Hill Foundation and Rochester’s Child, have awarded a combined total of $60,000 to the Rochester Parent Network (RPN). This funding supports the RPN’s community-wide initiative to unify and strengthen the local system of professional development for those who care for our children. Developing new coursework, establishing an infant/toddler credentialing program and laying the foundation for an early childcare institute that monitors and coordinates professional development are at the heart of this effort. The effort will ultimately translate to the continuing improvement of care for our children.

The Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation is dedicated to improving the well-being of residents in Monroe and Yates counties by funding programs that aid disadvantaged children and families. The Halcyon Hill Foundation is a not-for-profit family foundation dedicated to the well-being of young children in Monroe County, N.Y and in areas where the Directors live. Rochester’s Child, a project of the Rochester Area Community Foundation, is a fundraising initiative designed to support quality early childhood education programs.

The Rochester Parent Network (RPN) supports parents and caregivers of babies (0-3 years) by increasing awareness about early childhood development and facilitating communication about such issues within our community.
