Selecting MCC's Next President

Let me take a moment during this pause in our candidates’ visits to share with you the Board of Trustees’ plans for the eventual vote and announcement.

As you know, our candidates’ interviews will conclude late this week. On Friday, April 17, the Board of Trustees will meet in executive session to review the input we receive from the college community and board members’ assessments regarding the candidates. No vote is planned for this meeting; there will be no announcement after this meeting.

Faculty leaders have asked that the Board announce its decision after spring break so that the college community can attend the meeting. While, generally speaking, there are good reasons to announce our choice as soon as possible after the interviews conclude, I believe there are even better reasons to wait until faculty, staff and students return to campus after spring break. As such, I expect the Board will be ready to vote and announce our new president at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. in Monroe A/B of the Warshof Conference Center. I hope you are able to attend the meeting.

As always, if you have any questions regarding the search, please do not hesitate to share them with Assistant to the President Raymond C. Shea (<<mailto:rshea@monroecc.edu>>) or our consultant, Robert Parilla ( <<mailto:rep@academic-search.com>>).

Thank you.
