Yom Hashoah Commemorated Today

Honor the memory of Holocaust victims and pay tribute to the courage of local survivors today at MCC's 16th annual Yom Hashoah Commemoration: "Unto Every Life There is a Story," hosted by the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project.

Organized by MCC student leaders, the commemoration will be a full-day event on Tuesday, April 25, beginning with a
calling of the names ceremony in the Flynn Campus Center Atrium at 10:00 a.m., and ending with a reception and tribute to local survivors in the Forum (3-130) at 3:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

The day’s events will include the HGSP exhibit of local survivor photo essay, "I Told You Now Tell the World," the HGSP’s history wall, a candle lighting ceremony, and testimony given by five local survivors in the Forum (at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm).

Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, is commemorated throughout the world to honor the memories of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust.
