Brown-Bag Sessions on Innovative Teaching Practices to be offered by Science, Health and Business Faculty


The Professional Development Committee of Science, Health and Business invites the college community to attend three Friday brown-bag workshops on various innovative teaching practices. The workshops are informal, will all be held in 12-201 during College Hour, and will consist of a short presentation with a discussion and a question-and-answer period at the conclusion. 

The first workshop will be presented by James Cronmiller from the Biology Department, and will be held on Friday, March 7th.  The topic of the workshop will be: UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH.  Please RSVP to James at <mailto:jcronmiller@monroecc.edu> by Thursday, March 6th if you will be attending. 

The second workshop in the series will be presented by Joe McCauley from Business Administration and Economics, and will be held on Friday, March 21st.  The topic will be DISTRIBUTED EDUCATION.  Please RSVP to Joe at <mailto:jmccauley@monroecc.edu> by Thursday, March 20th if you will be attending.

The third and final workshop in the series will be presented by Amy Irwin, Chemistry/Geosciences, and will be held on Friday, April 11th.  The workshop topic will be, CREATING SIGNIFICANT LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR YOUR STUDENTS.  This workshop will be a precursor to a proposed FIG (Faculty Inquiry Group) to be held during the fall of 2014, culminating with a January, 2015 full-day presentation by the author of the book, L.
