Presented by Tom Proietti. Department of Visual and Performing Arts  The session will be a brief overview of studying the media in the United Kingdom.  This presentation will involve descriptions of cultural, program, and international opportunities during the MCC On-Location intersession course in January.  Media in the UK will also include specific elements of the course such as guest speakers, TV and radio programs, side trips, theatre and film.   This event will be of interest to students, faculty and staff who are interested in media, mass communication, and Britain. This event is also relevant to faculty who are interested in the types of study that can be offered through On-Location courses abroad.  The MCC Faculty On-Location Handbook will be available.

You will learn about how to earn 3 credits through this opportunity, and about the requirements of the course (ITA 221), the planned itinerary, the cost of the trip, and the activities that you'll be participating in while in Rome.

Presented by Rich Della Costa, a faculty member in MCC's Visual and Performing Arts Department, is a former Peace Corps volunteer who also worked at Peace Corps headquarters for twelve years. He will cover the basic recruitment process, educational and experiential requirements, time frames, and basic screening methods for Peace Corps service, as well as how his own experience has enhanced his career.
