Lecture and Book Signing by Local Author Peter Lovenheim


The Leroy V. Good Library (Brighton campus) will be hosting a lecture this Friday, October 29, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Peter Lovenheim, author and Professor of English at RIT, will be speaking on his book In the Neighborhood: The Search for Community on an American Street, One Sleepover at a Time.  The lecture will be located on the 4th floor of the library, outside of room 2-452.

 In addition to talking about his book, author Peter Lovenheim will also sell and sign copies of In the Neighborhood: The Search for Community on an American Street, One Sleepover at a Time, for the half hour before and after his lecture. This is your chance to talk to him in person! The book signing will take place on Friday, October 29, from 11-11:30 AM and 1-1:30 PM on the 4th floor of the LeRoy V. Good Library (Brighton Campus), outside of room 2-452. The cover price of the book is $23.95.

Peter Lovenheim, a Rochester resident, is a journalist whose articles and essays have appeared in The New York Times, New York magazine, and other publications. He teaches writing in the Department of English at Rochester Institute of Technology. He holds degrees in journalism from Boston University and in law from Cornell Law School. In addition to his most recent book, In the Neighborhood, he previously published Portrait of a Burger as a Young Calf. He is also author or co-author of several books for the general reader about mediation and conflict resolution and the selector and editor with Rabbi David Katz of a collection of contemporary stories based on the Hebrew Bible, Reading between the Lines.
