6th Annual Power of Diversity Series Events Set for Nov. 17-18


Dr. Quintin Bullock, president of Schenectady County Community College in Schenectady, N.Y., will be the keynote speaker for MCC’s sixth annual Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. Power of Diversity Series on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Brighton and Damon City campuses. Sponsored by MCC’s Diversity Council, the event is free and open to the college community. Please save these dates and check the Trib regularly for further information.

Dr. Bullock’s keynote address will include an understanding of mentoring practices that drive successful community colleges.

Dr. Bullock has more than 15 years of experience as an administrator in higher education. He holds several degrees, including a Doctor of Dental Surgery, a master’s in education and a bachelor’s in pre-medicine. He has also completed post-doctoral work at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Prior to his current role as SCCC president, Dr. Bullock served as executive dean of MCC’s Damon City Campus from 1998-2002. He began his career in higher education at MCC as director of the Science & Technology Entry Program.

Honors include being named 2010 Promising Newcomer by The Business Review (Albany, N.Y.) for contributing to the growth of the Capital Region business community.

The Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. Power of Diversity Series recognizes the pioneering spirit and outstanding leadership of Dr. Young, a leading Rochester educator and founding trustee and board chair emerita of Monroe Community College.
