Safe Zone Training

The Diversity Council is proud to bring back Safe Zone Training this summer to the MCC Community. The date for this training will be June 16th, from 12:30 until 3:30, and will be held on the Brighton Campus in the Forum, Flynn Campus Center. This training will be led by Bethany Gizzi and will be limited to the first 40 registrants. All participants will receive the Safe Zone sticker to hang on their door or office window. It is a symbol of a safe place, for LGBTQ students. If you are interested in signing up for this training, please contact "mailto:crand@monroecc.edu" to register and hold your spot. Below is some additional information regarding Safe Zone Training.

Safe Zone workshops are LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*gender and Queer) and ally education workshops that are conducted at colleges and universities across the country. Safe Zone workshops are defined as workshops meant to educate individuals on LGBTQ issues and help members of college communities (students, professors, administrators, and staff) become better allies to LGBTQ students and more aware of gender and sexuality issues. This is the single unifying factor that makes a Safe Zone workshop a Safe Zone workshop.

Looking forward to seeing you at the training.
