REMINDER: On Tuesday, September 17, 2002, from 2:15 to 4:30 p.m., ETS will be
sponsoring the videoconference, INTERNET 2: A NEW RESOURCE FOR EDUCATION, at
the Brighton Campus in Room 3-172. Jeff Bartkovich will introduce the
program. Following the telecast he and Dale Mallory will conduct a brief
wraparound session; including information on Internet 2 in Rochester and
potential application in the SUNY system.
This videoconference will discuss the evolution of and uses for Internet 2,
technical issues related to the network's implementation, and ways colleges and
other groups can participate or contact current participants. Representatives
from universities and community colleges will showcase their use of Internet 2
and examine concerns about implementation.
For those unable to attend the teleconference, a video copy will be available
for a one-month period in the Brighton Library on Reserve following the
teleconference. For those at the Damon City Campus interested in viewing the
videotape of the teleconference, please contact the DCC Library and
arrangements will be made for the video to be shipped from the Brighton Library
to the DCC Library for pickup.
