New Kid-Friendly Features at MCC Libraries

The Brighton and Downtown Campuses have new, dedicated study spaces just for families! Our new family-friendly study rooms include kid-sized furniture, computers, whiteboards, and children's books. The rooms provide a warm, welcoming place for student-parents to meet, work on projects, or study while their children occupy themselves with anything from toys and games to computer-based activities.

In addition to the family-friendly study rooms, we also have educational toys and games available for use either in the family-friendly study rooms or elsewhere in the library or learning commons. These are sorted by age group in our custom-made Kid Kits.

On the Brighton Campus, the family-friendly study room is located on the main floor of the LeRoy V. Good Library, Room 2-221. On the Downtown Campus, the family-friendly study room is located in the Learning Commons, Room 440E. Interested students can stop by the Service Desk of the Brighton Campus Library or the Downtown Campus Learning Commons to check out a room key and/or a Kid Kit, or use the following link to reserve their preferred study room time slot in advance: https://monroecc.libcal.com/.

This initiative was made possible through the generous donations of the MCC Foundation and the Wegmans Success Scholars grant from the Wegmans Family Foundation. We would like to extend a special thanks to Lloyd Holmes, Vice President, Student Services; Heather Cruz, Associate Vice President, Student Services; Sandy Wolf, Facilities; Joel Frater, Executive Dean, Downtown Campus; and Toni Custodio, Director, Downtown Campus Operations.
