Accolades from the Deans for advising efforts

The Deans wish to express gratitude for the widespread efforts being made in support of student advising. The Guided Pathways model is predicated on students having guides to help them navigate towards their goals. From their points of entry through coursework and completion, students benefit from a comprehensive advising support system comprised of specialists, faculty, staff, and professional advisors with expertise in particular schools, disciplines, and programs.

Any endeavor so wide-reaching encounters challenges along the way, but the lasting and meaningful relationships fostered between MCC employees and students make our efforts worthwhile. We continue to see truly admirable contributions from all areas of the College and wish to particularly recognize the efforts of two groups. First, we wish to thank the School Specialists, who have been tasked with much of the implementation of pathways advising within their Schools while coordinating collaboration between related programs. Second, we thank the many members of the faculty and staff who have stepped out of their comfort zones, choosing to advise in areas of particular need, and naturally, stepping onto a learning curve. Doing so demonstrates a level of professionalism and dedication to the success of our students that deserves recognition and praise - please accept ours!
