College Students Organize Day of Activities for Local Seniors
To give back to the community and brighten the day of local senior citizens, students in the Travel Club at Monroe Community College and in the hospitality program at Eastern Monroe Career Center are organizing the Second Annual Senior Shindig.

The event – from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the Clarion Riverside Hotel – offers seniors in our community a chance to meet New York State Sen. Joseph E. Robach and Monroe County Sheriff Patrick M. O’Flynn. Robach will greet the crowd at 9:30 a.m. and O’Flynn will be at the event around noon.

Attendees also can participate in one of three morning seminars during two sessions that will provide dance lessons, an introduction to jazzercise, and cooking demonstrations with two of MCC’s faculty. The event is cosponsored by the Robach, O’Flynn and the Monroe County Office for the Aging.
