The Cause: The Battle against Kidney Disease
The Campus Activities Board at Monroe Community College faces the battle against kidney disease head on with this year’s community outreach project!  Kathy Navarro, Monroe Community College student extraordinaire, gave life to her nephew by donating one of her kidneys.  Kathy’s sister, Diane Dawson, who works at Monroe Community College in the Instructional Technologies Department, has a preteen son, David, who has dealt with kidney disease all of his life.  With the support of his family, friends, and medical care, he has been able to be active in sports and dreams of being a professional athlete. Kathy donated one of her kidneys to help David live his dreams, and she has had to take off 6-8 weeks from work to give this incredible gift.

All of the proceeds of MCC FACES A CAUSE will be donated to support Kathy and David…to help cover the co-payments, medical costs, and services for the family during their recovery.
