All College Days Panel Discussions Detailed

Studies reveal that food, housing, and transportation insecurities have risen in recent years and significantly negatively impact a student's ability to matriculate and graduate from college. These challenges exist at MCC, so the College has taken proactive steps to address insecurities and assist students in their pursuit of academic achievement.

During our All College Days gathering on Thursday, August 23, two panel discussions will highlight MCC initiatives in addressing insecurities. John Delate, associate vice president of student services and co-chair of the College Resource Committee, will moderate the panels. One will be comprised of current MCC students and alumni who will discuss their MCC experiences and detail how specific programs have helped them in their pursuit of graduation. The second panel will include faculty and staff who work directly with students in providing resources and other tools to overcome the adversities the students encounter.

Following the panel presentations, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions as well as to learn how they can become directly involved in supporting students facing food, housing and transportation insecurities.
