The Spring 2003 Foreign Film Fest starts this Thursday


The Spring 2003 Foreign Film Fest starts this Thursday, March 6th, with the showing of these two films:

“Nine Queens” Drama in Spanish, 2001. Set in Buenos Aires, Argentina, it's about two con artists who try to sell a stamp collector a sheet of counterfeit stamps (the “nine queens”). Introduced by MCC alumnus Fernando Páez.

“Monsoon Wedding” Comedy in English, Punjabi and Hindi, 2001. About the preparations for an arranged marriage in India. Introduced by Sumati Devadutt.

All events will begin in Room 8-200 of the Brighton Campus. Arrive at 6:00 PM to mingle and enjoy some ethnic nibbles and food sampling. The films will be introduced at 6:30 PM. Two films will be shown concurrently in each of the specified dates. Parking is available in Lot J. All films have English subtitles. The Foreign Film Fest is free and open to the public.
