Late Starting Courses and Financial Aid

The amount of a student's financial aid is dependent upon the number of credit hours in which the student is enrolled and the courses they attend each term.

· Financial aid regulations require that aid may only be distributed to students who are attending classes.
·  To comply with these regulations, students must attend all of your classes in order to qualify for financial aid.
·  In summary, a student's financial aid won’t be fully awarded until attendance has been fully confirmed.

If a student you know is enrolled in one or more late starting course for the current semester, please make them aware that decisions for canceling late start courses occur just prior to the beginning of the course.

·  If a late start course is cancelled due to low enrollment, a student's financial aid package will be adjusted.
· An adjustment of financial aid may result in a student owing a balance to MCC.
· Please be aware that students may have limited course options when trying to replace a cancelled late start course.

If you have further questions or concerns about late start courses, please feel free to contact your advisor, the Counseling & Advisement Center (292-2030) or the Registration & Records Office (292-2300 or via e-mail at: <
