A Special Employee Introduced at "All College Day"

It is with much excitement that we introduce to you, Abby (pictured below).  Abby has joined the Administrative Services staff in a most critical role; she is our new Geese Control Dog.

Abby replaces Luke who had been with the college for 10 years.  She is a 1-1/2 year old female mixed border collie/golden retriever.  She is a rescued animal that was in need of a good home and was referred to MCC’s Grounds Supervisor Ron Fess, her handler, through a mutual friend.

Abby has been coming to work now for about 4-5 weeks on a trial basis, Ron says that Abby is a bit timid, but is doing an acceptable job herding the geese.  Ron is convinced that she shows great promise!

As with Luke, Ron Fess stresses the importance of not attempting to feed, pet or play with Abby.  She is here to do a job and it will take her a while to adjust to the traffic on campus.

So, if you see Abby on campus, please acknowledge her quietly and move on, knowing she is working hard to keep our grounds clean from our Geese friends.

Thank you.
