TCC: Congratulations to the Summer Funding Recipients!

In an effort to maintain transparency for summer funding, we are pleased to share the winners for this year's Instructional Development Stipends (IDS), OER grants, and Virtual Campus grants. There were 20 applications this year, so competition was fierce. All funded projects all demonstrated innovative solutions to clearly defined problems.

Instructional Design Stipends:

  • Amy Burns, Marcia Fugate, Karen Wells, Rachel Santiago
  • Jason Szymanski and Heather Pierce
  • Jacob Bodway

OER:

  • Elizabeth Johnston
  • Rachel Santiago
  • Karen Wells
  • Beth Wilson

Virtual Campus:

  • Eileen Radigan
  • Linda Pratt
  • Betty Mandly
  • Rebecca Griffin
  • Jesse Redlo

The funded applicants had these criteria in common:

  • Clear and specific evidence about the impact of a problem that affects students
  • Proposed project will impact a large number of students
  • Proposed time spent was clearly defined
  • Proposed project could be a model for other instructors/departments
  • Clear criteria for success
  • Had done preliminary preparation during the year or were planning to prepare for the project in June
  • Written proposal was clearly communicated

Please expect another call for summer funding proposals next January. If you are considering applying, we recommend gathering data during the fall and spring to demonstrate a clear need for whatever you propose. In the spring, we intend to have a writing session in the TCC, where prospective applicants can share ideas and ask questions of previous winners.

Sincere thanks to all of the applicants from the whole IDS committee!
