Building upon our past support of Water for South Sudan founded by alumnus Salva Dut, the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project has set the goal of sending 800 backpacks filled with school supplies to the South Sudanese village of Aliek—the site of a fresh water well built by Dut’s team. Fifty backpacks have already been purchased!
The opening of the well enabled women and children to stop walking for water on a daily basis and a more permanent village, including a school, to be built in Aliek. But, the students and teachers need school supplies to make their school a success.
Please support our efforts to Brighten a Child’s Future in South Sudan. Purchase a full backpack for $30 or donate money and/or school supplies to their effort. To contribute, contact the HGHRP at <mailto:theproject@monroecc.edu>, call the office at 292-3321, or stop by 3-138K in the Flynn Campus Center.
Thank you for your support.
