Trash in the Recycling Bins!

Please do not throw trash in the recycling bins.  The Brighton Campus Student Government Association Sustainability Committee would like to remind everyone to properly use recycling bins around campus.  MCC is currently losing 50% of all loads collected from recycling bins due to contamination.  This is increasing the cost of waste disposal the college pays as well as our footprint on the earth.  Please do your part by throwing recyclables in the recycling bins and trash in trash bins.  It only takes one person to ruin an entire load of recyclables.  Do not be that person!

*Recycling bins are blue and most have lids with either a round hole for bottles or a slot for paper.  NONE of the bins are for both paper and bottles.

If you are interested in helping promote sustainability on campus, please contact Brighton Campus Student Government Association Campus Environment Coordinator Amy Battaglia at <<mailto:abattaglia021@student.monroecc.edu>> or stop down to one of the Sustainability Committee meetings in 3-136, either Tuesdays from 11a.m.-12p.m. or Fridays from 2:30p.m.-3:30p.m.

Thank you for helping us in our effort to make MCC a green campus!
