MCC Welcomes it First Residents

Over 400 students were welcomed to their new homes on campus on Saturday, Aug. 30 by MCC's Housing and Residence Life staff and a host of faculty and staff volunteers. The event maked a first in the College's history.

Gold and black balloons adorned the Alice Holloway Young Commons as parents and students unloaded vehicles and got acquainted with roommates. Representatives from Financial Aid, Bursar, Public Safety, Bookstore, Health and Dining services were also on hand to assist students and their families.

Susan Salvador, Ed.D., vice president, Student Services, answered questions for a variety of local reporters throughout the day. Resident Assistant Alberto "Tito" Martinez, an MCC sophomore, was also interviewed by RNEWS reporter Wendy Mills for the station's live morning segment.
