Nursing Faculty Supporting Community Efforts to Get Everyone Vaccinated

Associate Professor Judy Wilson, and Assistant Professor Cari Rosario Mathieu have been spending weekends working with the Monroe County Public Health Department at the Riverside Convention Center providing vaccinations to all who qualify for the covid vaccine in the community. They want to encourage all who have not yet been vaccinated to seek out the many places that are providing vaccines locally. "We felt this was a great way to contribute to the efforts being made fighting covid and we were happy to jump in and work with the health department when they sent out the call for help back in January." With vaccines now available for anyone 16 and older, the vaccination efforts will continue to be in full force using the county, state, and federal sites, as well as pharmacies and other health care facilities all offering vaccine appointments. "There are no shortage of appointments locally. We are very lucky to be in this position, and we hope that as many of our community members take advantage of this as possible, helping move us back towards some sense of normalcy."
