MCC Upward Bound & MCC Downtown Campus to Welcome RCSD Students to 7th Annual Shadow Day

MCC Upward Bound is proud to collaborate with nine MCC Downtown professors to present today's 7th Upward Bound Shadow Day. Upward Bound is a pre-collegiate program that targets students who will be in the first generation of their family to go to college.

The goal of Shadow Day is for students to have a non-intimidating while simultaneously inspiring "first-dip" into a future career or major. Students will one or two MCC classes in the morning, participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the downtown campus, debrief over lunch, and finish by hearing a presentation from the Director of Student Services, Kim DeLardge.

Many thanks to the following professors who are participating in this project: Elizabeth Mandly, Joe Scanlon, Melanie Rivera (also an Upward Bound alumna), Craig Waleed, Njeru Murage, Erin Nelson, Michelle Parker, Eileen Radigan, and Dina Giovanelli. Students benefited from the professors' passions and expertise in Human Services, Sociology, Criminal Justice, English, History, Psychology, Education, and Biology. Students will be encouraged to participate, take notes, ask questions and engage in these classes.
