Smart Consoles lock up can help deter theft

All Faculty using Smart Consoles in Building 9A,

I have received repeated notifications from Public Safety that classrooms in the Annex building (9A) are being left unlocked and Smart Consoles are not being put in their "Park and Lock" position after classes.  I have also personally found vandallism and attempted theft of equipment on two Smart Consoles.  There was successful theft and damage on one of these Consoles.  All equipment is still functional except for a missing floppy drive in 9A-114 Smart Console.  We will get that replaced as soon as we are able.

Please make every attempt to turn off the equipment and "Park and Lock" the Smart Console at the wall location.  If you do not have a key for the Consoles "Park and Lock" padlock, please obtain a D-26 key from Public Safety.  If you need a classroom key please obtain that as well (R-1).

We appreciate your attention and participation in keeping our campus safe and keeping costs down,

Thanks,
