"HerStory" of Women at MCC Poster Presentation

In honor of Women’s History Month, the poster presentation “HerStory” of Women at MCC will be on display at the Brighton Campus March 9th, 12th, 13th and 15th from Noon-1pm in the Flynn Campus Center Forum (3-130) and the Damon City Campus fourth-floor Atrium March 22nd – 30th.

“HerStory” was conceptualized in 2002 by the AAWCC Executive Staff, in celebration of MCC’s 40th Anniversary.  It was originally brought to life in presentation form by Dr. Janet Glocker and a committee of volunteers.   Research was completed through the MCC Library Archives, the Monroe Doctrine, and multiple personal interviews.  The presentation is not a textbook adaptation but rather MCC’s “first ladies” thoughts, feelings, reactions, and stories of what it was like from their perspective to be part of this college’s foundation.

Today in celebration of Women’s History Month and MCC’s Golden Anniversary, AAWCC once again presents The “HerStory” of Women at MCC through a poster adaptation of Dr. Glocker’s original presentation.  Please enjoy the journey!
