Drought not the only factor in small crop production

On September 1, 13WHAM’s Ashley Doerzbacher interviewed Bob King, Ph.D. (Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute) about the “one-two punch” weather conditions have delivered to farmers in Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Genesee and Wayne counties. Farmers in those counties are now eligible for federal funding to offset declines in crop production due to unusual spring and summer weather conditions.

In the segment, Drought not the only factor in small crop production <https://13wham.com/news/local/drought-not-the-only-factor-in-small-crop-production> ,” King described how cold springtime temperatures impacted fruit trees and damaged flowering. He also encouraged consumers to support local agriculture given the conditions, noting that good quality produce is available.
