Dear Colleagues:
Monroe Community College has so much to celebrate and be thankful for this season. I hope you will join me and my wife, Kate, in showing your support of the excellent work done by the MCC Foundation during this past year by planning to attend the 15th annual Salute to Excellence on Thursday evening, Dec. 9, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
This year’s Salute to Excellence, maintaining its fine tradition, will recognize the generosity of Bausch & Lomb employees toward Monroe Community College over the past 17 years. Because of our longstanding partnership with Bausch & Lomb, we have a child care center on our Brighton Campus and science labs at our Damon City Campus; we have endowed scholarships to award each year and are ever closer to reaching our capital campaign goals. Our friend, Chairman and CEO Ronald L. Zarrella, will accept the award on behalf of the thousands of Bausch & Lomb employees worldwide that evening.
In addition, we will induct four outstanding citizens into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame. I hope you will be in the audience as we applaud the professional and personal accomplishments of MCC Foundation Board Director and successful businessman John R. Kraus ’65; Colonel John J. Perrone, Jr. ’70, director of MCC’s Homeland Security Management Institute; Robert O. Hoffman, M.D. ’74, a pioneer in pediatric ophthalmology; and Kodak Vice President Ann S. Turner ’68 who recently returned to campus to speak during Kodak Day.
As a member of the college’s faculty and staff, your presence at this event is important and reaffirms our gratitude to those people who support our mission and those whom we have the privilege of serving.
