Award-winning, international artist
Shawn Dunwoody will deliver the Message to the Graduates at MCC’s Commencement, Saturday morning, June 4, at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.
Shawn studied fine arts at MCC during the 1990s. He chose MCC because it was close to home and economical. Recognizing his talent and potential, his MCC art professors introduced him to the New York City art scene and how to turn his artistic passion into a career.
As creative director for
DUNWOODE Visual Consulting, Shawn leads a design-based, strategic art team. His creative implementation and innovative planning focus on visual interventions and community forms of urban development. He is a successful arts-entrepreneur who plays a significant and inspiring role in our community; he is a champion for Rochester.
(585) Magazine named him as one of seventeen visionaries moving our community forward; and Post magazine’s September/October 2015 front cover stated he “might be the coolest guy in Rochester.”
