ETS and Administrative Services have implemented a new procedure and form to control laptop, notebook and netbook (portable) computer assignments. Portable computers assigned to MCC faculty and staff, regardless of the funding source used to purchase the unit, remain the property of the College and become a part of the college-wide physical inventory.
The new procedure assigns individual responsibility for the safekeeping of portable computers and reminds users of College practices and guidelines for use of College-owned computer resources, network security, and security of College data. Employees who are provided a portable computer will be required to sign the Portable Computer “Appropriate Use and Responsibility Agreement” when the unit is delivered by ETS. For your information, a copy of the new form is attached.
