Opening Day ~ Reflections Presidential Meals

Thursday, October 2, 2008. All presidents day!

Today's Reflection’s menu features an Americana theme, with recipes that may have been enjoyed by all presidents including, Roasted Eggplant Soup, Chicken, Apple and Pecan Salad on Autumn Greens with a Port Wine and Tarragon Vinaigrette.

And for dessert you may want to indulge in All American as Apple Pie, George Washington’s Cherry Pie and our very own Interim President Tyree’s Pecan Pie.

All customers will also be served Tex-Mex Chex in a snack bowl.  This is a snack mix President Bush brought with him from the Governor’s Mansion.  It is a Texas twist to an old American favorite, and the White House kitchen had to have it on hand at all times.  In addition to eating it at the White House, the President never traveled without it.

Also, all guests will receive a special departing surprise as they leave the dining room!

All customers ordering the featured presidential meal will receive a printed copy of the recipe from Chef Walter Scheib’s book, White House Chef: Eleven Years, Two Presidents, One Kitchen.
