Adding videos to Blackboard through the Ensemble Video Chooser has changed!

Due to a recent software update, the way you login in to the Ensemble Video Chooser when adding videos to Blackboard has changed a bit. Basically, you'll need to click on the "MCC SSO" link, rather than using the regular Username and Password fields. So here's the full revised instructions on how to add videos to Blackboard through Ensemble:

  • Go to your Blackboard course where you want to post the video you’ve created
  • Make sure "Edit Mode is On" in the upper right corner
  • Click on "Build Content/Ensemble Video Chooser"
  • Click on the link to "Login" (you should only have to do this once a session)
  • On the Login window that appears, DON’T use the regular Username and Password fields, but click the link for "MCC SSO" under "Single Sign-On?" (you may also have to choose "Monroe" as your campus)
  • You are now in your own Ensemble library
  • Click the green "Upload" button
  • Fill in the Title, and click "Select file to upload" and browse to your file
  • Click the button along the bottom labelled "Upload" and wait as the file uploads
  • If you don’t see your video in the list immediately, or it doesn't show a thumbnail image, click "Reload"
  • "Choose" the video with the button underneath it
  • Select "Media Embed Options" and change the Video Size to about 480x270, uncheck all the check boxes, and click "Save" (this step is optional, but it seems to look best within Blackboard)
  • Select "Video Player" and "Save"
  • This is now a Blackboard item like any other, and you can move it around within your course (by default, it will be at the bottom of the content area)

As always, contact myself or other members of the Virtual Campus staff if you have any further questions on using video in your classes, or on Blackboard in general.
