PROTECTING INFORMATION THROUGH AWARENESS (PITA) for Students:

It’s not just for MCC Staff and Faculty anymore…

PITA is part of a campus-wide initiative aimed at educating the MCC community about types of protected information we deal with on a daily basis at the college, legislation affecting us, and how to better manage the control and release of this information. The original PITA website was targeted on our staff and faculty. The PITA for Students website builds on this approach. Our goal is to present information on topics directly affecting them, and to increase their knowledge on how to protect themselves and their personal information from theft and fraud. Our recent spate of Digital Millennium Copyright Act cases underscores our need to educate our students about the ethics and intellectual property issues involved in Peer-to-Peer files-sharing of music and other digital media. Come find out what we’re doing to get the word out! Presented by Bill Wagoner, ETS VP Office.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15 in ROOM 11-109
