Tech Alert: Printer updates

You may have noticed some changes to network printing over the last few days. This occurred due to changes in how network printing works. The changes addressed a serious security vulnerability in the Microsoft software used by Windows printing. The security update issued last week now requires administrator credentials to add or update network printers. We are working to rapidly develop and deploy system-wide changes to mitigate the impacts of this new requirement while maintaining our commitment to the information security posture of the college.

If you are still experiencing issues adding or connecting to network print queues, be sure to restart your PC (there is a system restart button on each desktop) to ensure that your PC has our recent update.  If you still experience the issue after a restart, please call 292-8324, option 3 or put in a technology request ticket for assistance.
