MCC Continues to Lead Effort in Addressing Food and Housing Insecurities

MCC continues to provide leadership locally, regionally, and nationally in the area of addressing food and housing insecurities for students.

In addition to the campus presentations by the Resource Committee on February 15th (Downtown) and February 28th (Brighton), MCC faculty, staff, and administrators will be presenting on the College's efforts at the following events:

- Dr. Lloyd Holmes will be speaking at the Rochester Public Library on February 19th. Dr. Holmes will provide an overview of the economic landscape in Rochester and the challenges a number of MCC students face. His presentation will then focus on the comprehensive approach that the College has taken to address these serious student needs with a variety of resources. Dr. Holmes' talk will also reveal the impact of these efforts on student recruitment and retention.

- Julianna Frisch, Rebecca Mack, Diane Clements, and John Delate will be delivering two presentations on this topic on February 24th at the League for Innovation conference in New York City.

- Dr. Holmes and John Delate will also be presenting at the American Association of Community Colleges annual convention in Orlando on April 14th.

While the aforementioned individuals are presenting on MCC's work on insecurities, they are representing the efforts of numerous faculty and staff at the Brighton and Downtown campuses who assist students each and every day to overcome these challenges.

Many thanks to the entire community for your assistance in our campaign to address food and housing insecurities.
