Construction Begins May 28

If you have spent much time in MCC’s Monroe Loop — or the front loop, as it’s more commonly called — as a driver, bus rider or pedestrian, you have likely noticed the high volume of traffic. But it won’t be long before traffic buildup in the loop will vanish forever.

Starting soon, MCC will give its front entrance to the Brighton Campus a major makeover that will close the loop for good. The year-long redesign will improve traffic flow, add green space and create a more inviting entrance to the college.

Construction will begin May 28, 2013, and continue through August 30, 2014; it will impact parking and traffic patterns on campus.

Pickup and drop-off points for buses and wheelchair vans will be relocated. Visitor parking will be temporarily moved.

MCC will undertake construction in multiple phases:

---
May 28, 2013  – July 1, 2013:

A section of Center Road behind the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center will be closed for construction of a traffic lane to accommodate public bus service.

Starting July 2, 2013, the bus stop will be relocated from Monroe Loop to this new location. Only the Route #50 bus will stop at this new on-campus location; other public buses will pick up and drop off on East Henrietta Road. Check  "
https://www.rgrta.com" for route information.

---
July 2, 2013  – Dec. 31, 2013:

Monroe Loop and ramp entrances to the Spina Administration Building will be removed and replaced with campus green and staircases to the second-floor entrance to the building.

MCC asks students, visitors and employees to use caution navigating the campus during the construction. Signs will be posted in and around campus to guide everyone.

The safety and well-being of our students and employees are our top priorities. As such, campus parking regulations will continue to be strictly enforced during the construction period.

We apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this project may cause. We have every confidence that upon completion, MCC will be a safer and more inviting campus.

Thank you for your patience.
