Community Fridays for a Cause

The next “Community Fridays for a Cause” is Friday, February 8th.

The Aurora House, providing hospice, will be the recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

Hospice is defined as a special healthcare option for patients and families who are faced with a terminal illness. A multi-disciplinary team of health care providers, social workers, bereavement counselors and volunteers work together to address the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient and family.

The Aurora House focuses on bringing comfort, self-respect, and tranquility to people in the final stages of life.  The hospice team at Aurora House provides care to patients in a home-like setting regardless of the patient’s age or ability to pay.  Hospice care also involves assistance for patients’ families to help them cope with the last days of their loved ones life.

Aurora House has two large resident suites each equipped with a private bathroom with walk-in shower and has all the comforts of home as well any assistive equipment that is needed.  A twin sleeper sofa is available in each room for loved ones who wish to stay close by.

A private family suite is provided on the lower level of Aurora House with a queen size bed, quiet sitting area, full bath, television with DVD, and wireless internet access so families are able to stay on the premises.

The Aurora House is fully supported by donations and neighbors helping neighbors.  Please be generous in your support of the Aurora House and the compassionate assistance offered to the patients and families who seek the comfort and care of  its hospice team.

Wear school colors on Friday and show support for our MCC family and our efforts to support the Aurora House.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the Aurora House.  Donation envelopes have been returned to your departments to be used again on February 8th.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, February 8th.
