MCC Sustainability Committee Supports “Curb Your Car” Week

The MCC Sustainability Steering Committee, Rochester Cycling Alliance and ColorBrightonGreen.org would like to encourage you to “Curb Your Car” during the week of Sunday May 15 through Saturday May 21, to coincide with National Bike to Work Week.  Families throughout Brighton and the greater Rochester area will pledge to leave their cars home for one or more trips during this week.  Can you walk, bike, take the bus, car-pool, telecommute or combine trips?  “Curbed” trips can be to school, work, soccer practice, the grocery store or anywhere you normally drive your vehicle.

We hope to surpass last year’s success in which MCC produced the largest school or employer savings of 3815 miles or 2745 lbs of carbon dioxide.  Please include MCC as your school or employer and you’ll receive information after the event of MCC’s total savings.  Prizes will be awarded to top mileage savers and to random participants.  All participant contact is through e-mail.  Please register at ColorBrightonGreen.org.

Look for additional information in the Daily Tribune announcing a gathering of MCC bikers during Curb Your Car week.
