Passing of Professor Emeritus Thomas Fabiano


I am sad to inform members of the college community that Professor Emeritus Thomas Fabiano, Ph.D., a committed professional and dedicated teacher, passed away on Saturday, January 14th.

A member of MCC's History/Political Science faculty since 1963, Professor Fabiano, a grant recipient, an author, and a tireless advocate of the community college mission, was the recipient of the first established SUNY Chancellor's Award. He was also one of the first community college professors to receive a fellowship from the National Foundation of the Arts and Humanities.

Professor Fabiano is survived by his wife Lena, his children Teresita Guillemin Laborne; Erica Favaloro; and Thomas R. Fabiano; grandchildren Illa Guillermin Laborne; Julianna Favoloro, son-in-laws Jean Michel Guillemin Laborne and Michael Favaloro, brothers Carl Fabiano and wife Catherine and their children; Ennio and his children in Italy, sister Lea and husband Pino and children; and many other relatives here and abroad.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 19th at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Church, 60 South Main Street, Pittsford. Entombment at Maple Wood Court Mausoleum, White Haven Memorial Park.
