March Madness in the Registrar's Office: More on Attendance

After we are done slam-dunking and making foul shots for the day, we have to settle back into the attendance process. Droopy shorts and tattoos aside, we DO have business to attend to.

Ginger Toth and Lori DeWaters do an amazing job getting the all the attendance rosters out, and then getting them all back in again. They have to check for errors (yes, there are still some), correct those errors, do manual input of unscannable rosters (the bloody or chocolaty ones), answer MAT screen questions, and keep on top of which rosters are in and which ones aren't. And then they have to go out and find those that aren't. (Ginger Toth has actually accosted professors as they come out of their classroom and asked them for their missing attendance rosters. Think Bobby Knight. You've been warned.)

The attendance rosters for spring semester are due this Friday, March 5. Unlike grades, which can just keep rolling in, the attendance rosters are run through a one time only series of programs resulting in students being descheduled. If the roster misses this program, it misses the entire descheduling process.

If the team picture was taken yesterday, no one is going to retake it because I didn't show up. Likewise, if your roster misses the attendance process, it shows as an error in the auditing procedure and it will not appear with the other attendance rosters in the team photo. This is a major disappointment for all involved. It's important that your roster be in the Registrar's Office with the rest of the roster team on March 5.

Exceptions will be made for rosters that are incarcerated or making their court appearance on the 5th.
