MCC Toastmasters Sweep Area Contests

Congratulations to MCC alumni Rich Nestlen and Alex Turner who won the Toastmasters Area 4 Tall Tales and International Speech contests respectively on Friday, March 1 at the Auditorium Theater. Both are members of the MCC Toastmasters Club. They will go on to compete at the division level in April at Genesee Community College.

Nestlen’s Tall Tale was entitled “You’re Never Too Old,” about a Toastmasters club whose members are past United States presidents. Nestlen is the current president of the MCC Toastmasters Club. Turner’s International Speech, entitled “Hidden Genius,” inspired listeners to be true to themselves and pursue their passions despite society’s labels. The International Speech Contest is the only Toastmasters contest that offers speakers an opportunity to compete on a worldwide stage.
