Congratulations to our "Idols at MCC" Winners

The third annual "Idols at MCC" final competition was held on Saturday, April 2 in Monroe A & B.  This event, sponsored by the Brighton Campus Student Government Association and modeled after the Fox program, "American Idol", is a vocal competition.  The competition began in March with the first two elimination rounds - over 50 students competed.  Vocalists were assessed by a panel of judges and all but 10 were eliminated.  These 10 finalists, plus a finalist from the Damon City Campus, competed in Saturday night's event.

Congratulations to the following:

Quanique Youngblood, 1st place
Cecil Paige, 2nd place
Jonathan Stills, 3rd place

The vocalists this year were truly amazing, and the entire group of finalists are all to be congratulated!  The SGA would also like to recognize the following contestants who were in the top eleven:

Ervin Archibald
Elisa Berrettone
Joe Azzarone
Sarah J. Roberts
Janelle Cannon
Danielle Colbert
Ahmal Parker
Michael Ciaccia

Everyone did a wonderful job!

Judges for the event included Babeth Gayle, Residence Life and Housing; Char Guess-Bardques, EOP Program; Yulanda McKinney, English/Philosophy; Stacey Pierce, Residence Life and Housing; Cat Goodwin, Peer Mentor; and Joshua Daniels, Gospel Choir.  Clenita Thomas, President of the Brighton Campus Student Government Association and Ryan Turco, General Manager of WMCC, served as emcees.

Our thanks to all involved in the event and the students, faculty, staff, families and friends who came out to support this event!
