MCC Hospitality Student Performs in Italy

MCC Hospitality department has a group of 9 students studying abroad in Florence Italy this summer. The students are taking a variety of classes from culinary arts, travel writing, Italian language, and photography at Apicius School of Hospitality and Florence University of Arts.  In addition to class, the students are learning the Italian culture, visiting museums, and exploring towns of Parma, Pienza, Pisa, and the Cinque Terra region of the Italian Riviera.

One of the highlights during our first week stay was a musical performance by an MCC student Ms. Alexandra Gilbert-Schraq, at Santa Felicita al Ponte Vecchio church. Ms Gilbert-Schraq had an opportunity to perform on the grand organ in the church for her fellow students and members of the community. Ms. Gilbert-Schaq will be transferring to the Eastman School of Music in the fall to continue her studies. Photographs of Ms. Gilbert-Schrag and the class are attached.
